XAC AT150ED and AT160E Receive RNIB Certification, Advancing Accessible Touchscreen Payments for Blind and Partially Sighted Consumers

Hsinchu, Taiwan ROC (June 23, 2026) - XAC Automation Corporation (5490 Taiwan OTC), a leading R&D and manufacturing company focused on delivering commerce solutions to the payment industry since 1993, today announced that its AT150ED desktop SmartPOS terminal and AT160E 6-inch handheld payment terminal have received RNIB certification, marking an important milestone in XAC’s commitment to supporting accessible touchscreen payment experiences for blind and partially sighted consumers.

RNIB, the Royal National Institute of Blind People, is one of the UK’s leading organizations supporting people with sight loss and promoting accessibility across everyday services. As touchscreen payment devices become increasingly common in retail, hospitality, transportation, and self-service environments, accessible design plays an essential role in helping all consumers complete transactions independently, confidently, and securely.

The RNIB-certified XAC AT150ED and AT160E are designed to support accessible touch payment for people who are blind or visually impaired. Key accessibility features include audio guidance, high-contrast and large-text display, gesture control with double-tap selection, extended interaction time, and secure PIN entry. These features help users navigate the payment process more easily, confirm their actions, and complete card transactions with greater confidence.

The two terminals will be showcased on 25 June 2026 at the Digital Innovation Summit 2026, at the UK Finance RNIB booth. The showcase will demonstrate how XAC’s payment technology can support more inclusive payment and checkout experiences, helping merchants, acquirers, and payment service providers deliver accessible digital commerce to a wider range of consumers.

“Accessibility is not an optional feature in the future of payments; it is an essential part of secure and inclusive commerce,” said Kenneth Hu, CEO at XAC. “With the RNIB certification of AT150ED and AT160E, XAC is proud to support payment experiences that are easier to use for blind and partially sighted people, while maintaining the security, reliability, and flexibility required by modern payment deployments.”
